What to expect at the online consult session?

Resilience Consultation: Your Initial Assessment

Your consultant will review your pre-consult questionnaire, clarify why you’re seeking support, and assess any current symptoms. This helps us recommend the most suitable next steps for you.

You can expect focused, guided questions such as:

  • “What brings you to the session today?”
  • “What would you like to focus on or change?”

We’ll support you through the process even if you’re unsure where to begin.

How many consult sessions do I need?

Most clients gain clarity after one Resilience Consultation. If deeper support is needed, we may recommend moving into Resilience Counselling — but the choice is entirely yours.

Is Resilience Consultation suitable for all?

Resilience Consultation is helpful for most people seeking clarity on their emotional well-being.

However, it is not suitable for urgent or emergency situations. If you are in crisis, please contact emergency services or go to the nearest hospital immediately.

Emergency Contacts:

  • IMH Emergency Hotline: 6389 2003 / 6389 2004 (Available 24/7)
Are children and youths suitable for the online consultation?

Yes. Many children and youths benefit from Resilience Consultation.

For preschoolers and younger children, the caregiver will attend the consultation on their behalf.

For Clients Under 18

Parental or caregiver involvement is required. During the session, we will:

  • Discuss your child’s needs and family dynamics
  • Recommend the most suitable support approach

Caregiver participation helps strengthen emotional resilience at home and normalises help-seeking for the child.
